@dimelives1 nope, your timing will still be fine doing this procedure.

Will I need to mess with re-timing or anything just doing this process, or only if I was changing the whole distributor?

Thank you so much for this video! Even though you used a 1998 Civic, the procedure worked nicely for my 1997 (same design generation, "6th generation Civic", I guess). The topics on how to turn the crank (to access the rotor's screw) and replace the cap's gasket were particularly helpful. Even though this video showed that the front wheel (driver side) was absent, I only had to turn my steering wheel fully left, in order to get to the crank's bolt while my front wheel remained in its place.

@dimelives1 you wont have to do the crank rotation because the screw isnt hidden. itll be an easier job on the 98-02 accord

Hi, nukem384. I'm looking to do this exact procedure on my '98 Accord LX (4 cyl). Any extra tips or significant differences I should have in mind? Thanks!

@playermade yeah it happens. probably since its been in there so long. take an impact driver and gently hit it. you need to shock the threads loose so you can unscrew it

i've followed all these steps but after removing the screw from the rotor, it wont budge. it wont slide off or anything like it is just stuck in there. please help if you can.
