i attempted this and walked out smiling thinking i'd made £10. Then i looked to find i had somehow lost £10... serves me right for attempting to scam someone i guess :/

i worked as a cashier and some fucker tried this on me. He tried to distract me by buying some small items. But it didn't fool me. Luckily im asian.

This scam seems to rely on the cashier being not all that bright.As TheMusicBeats said just below... Why didn't she notice that she only had 9 in her hand before she gave him the 10? Anybody who works a till should follow the steps of receive money, count it, put it in till, then give change.
