I thought quantity value tables was a method of guessing and checking. Yeah, it seems like you are putting in the work right now. You can do it, there's plenty of on campus resources office time for professors and tutors. Use all the resources you can on campus and you should get through this. I used to spend 3-4 hours each week in my math courses in college(sometimes more). So good luck out there!

lol yeah dude im 19 and still taking algebra in college haha. im a science major so i better get my brain fired up somehow because idoubt ill get through calc 1 by next june.! what do you mean by guessing and checking is too dificult. are you guessing and checking for the systems of equations o naddition or are yo usaying that about using the abs value tables that was my confusion.

yes guessing and checking will be too difficult. Coming up with equations that fit the problem require practice and understanding. Try to ask your teacher for several problems and then try to solve the problems as they are watching. Don't get discouraged or affraid of failute, do what you have to do until you get the concept correct, you will be handsomely rewarded if youwork hard in math.

i guess i was confused because i was always taught to solve systems by addition. i have a question. i struggle with systems word problems. can all systems word problems be solved with a quantity value table? thats difficult too because there are 3 types but still its easier than nothings.

if you multiply by negative 2 then you need to add the two equations, not subtract. There is more than one way to solve this. As long as you eliminate the same variable in each manipulation you do then you should be left with 2 equations and two unknowns. Solving systems using this method can be cumbersome. Its much easier to use matrices with a computer algorithm(to be learned later in linear algebra should you pursue a math related degree).

the way yo udid it the 4xs dont cancel out. your supposed to multiply by a negative 2.s

you're welcome

4 words. Thank you so much! JUSTKIDDING, MORE WORDS. I hate math, but this is super helpfulll<3

you're welcome. all it takes is a little organization and neatness after you choose a variable to eliminate. keep practicing and working hard.

dude thanks SO much you helped me get this in a shorter amount of time then the few seconds I got it with my teacher! lol |
